Russell Keathley, PhD Vice President
Russell joined New Rhein in 2026. He is focused on the sourcing and evaluation of therapeutic assets and investment opportunities. Prior to joining New Rhein, Russell founded and led an independent advisory practice, consulting for therapeutics investment firms and their portfolio companies.
Before launching his consultancy, Russell was on the investment team at Medicxi, where he focused on investment diligence and deal execution in CNS and oncology (including D3 Bio and ProfoundBio, acquired by Genmab for $1.8B). Russell began his career at Raymond James as an Analyst in Life Sciences Investment Banking, executing M&A and ECM transactions.
Russell received his PhD in Cancer Biology from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where he worked in the lab of Daniela Matei (MD) studying mechanisms of chemoresistance in high-grade serous ovarian cancer. He lives in New York, where he enjoys walking his dog in Central Park and trying new restaurants with his partner.
